September 26, 2015 - 4 Seasons Recreational Club Monthly Meeting
Secretary’s Report was approved as read on a Mark/Dennis motion.
Treasurer’s Report was approved as read on a Dennis/Marlene motion.
Received a bill for the club’s ad on the winter NW Trails map. A Mark/Marlene
motion passed to pay the bill. Jean will amend the ad to include
“Like us on Facebook” and the rest of the ad will remain the same.
We received a letter of support from Wascott Area Tourism and the Town of Wascott
for the proposed trail along County Road T. Pogo’s is also completing a petition that
Chuck will collect and include with our application to the County. We need to have our
application to NW Trails by 10/6 and it will be presented to the Committee for review in
November. Jean and Greg have said they will attend the meeting. Chuck will get the date,
time and location of the meeting from Brad Corbin and let everyone know so we will have
Jon reported that the trail reroute has been roughed in. We need clean up the
downed branches and limbs and install a couple of gates, fences and posts. We
also need to brush the snowmobile trail. A Mike/Mark motion passed to get the
necessary supplies. A work day has been scheduled for 10/17. We will meet at
the building at 9:00. Workers can bring pruners, chainsaws, etc if they have.
Thank you to all volunteers who helped with Food and Fun and thank you to Colleen
and Bill Grammond for handling the raffle tickets. Reviewed suggestions from the
post Food and Fun meeting which we will revisited in the spring to discuss when
planning next year’s event. We handed out 760 door prize tickets. Jean should
have final accounting at the next meeting when all bills are paid.
We’ve been asked if we can open an ATV road route from View Point to Stop A
Sec. Chuck will send a request to the town.
Meat Raffle Volunteers – 10/3 Bill Peck; 10/17 McKays
Nominations were opened for President. Debbie nominated Chuck.
Nominations opened for Treasurer. There is a nomination for Jean. No new nominations.
Nominations opened for Secretary. Marlene nominated Doris.
One of the club’s founding members and first president, Tim Johnson, passed away
on September 4. Tim wanted memorials to be given to the Wascott Volunteer Fire
Department Foundation. A Mark/Mike motion passed to donate $500 in memoriam.
There is a meat raffle September 26 at North Shore Resort with proceeds going to
a Northwoods School scholarship in Tim’s name.
Bill reported that trails are in excellent condition. We need to order a load of
gravel for Chimpunk Hollow Road. A Mark/Dennis motion passed to order the gravel
and Mark has volunteered to do so.
ATV Ride is scheduled for October 10. We will meet at the Stop A Sec at 10 a.m.
We will stop along the trail for lunch. The club will grill hot dogs and riders
are asked to bring a dish to share. Everyone is welcome to attend by vehicle also.
The ride will be to the north and a schedule of stops will be available when we depart.
