The treasurer’s report was approved as read. The balance on hand was $4,834.89. Of that amount, $2,445.50 was money (donated and partial old groomer payment) to be kept separate for dedication to decreasing the groomer loan. Chuck also had the final check for groomer payment of $8,880.00.
Old Business
- The new groomer was sent back to ASV for repairs and has since been returned with repairs having been made. The old groomer has been sold to a club in South Dakota; they will pick it up in next few weeks.
- We discussed how insurance for new groomer would be paid. A motion was made by Marv, second by Art to pay it all at once. Chuck will call to find out exact payment.
- A bill was given to Jean from Barker’s Welding for modifying parts and purchase of steel rod for groomer.
- The web site looks very good. Need to add membership forms. We will give Greg a copy of the old one.
- Trail report: Chuck Shiller has been working on Trail #3 to #41 and trail to Chipmunk to widen it for the groomer. Gravel has been put on that trail near the blacktop.
- We discussed the meat raffle at Chipmunk and his donations to the club. We have purchased shirts and hats to give away from the club at the raffles. Jean B. will work at the next one. We have also received money from Chipmunk for sale of pull tabs. The club is very appreciative of these donations. Andy Bremanis donated his recent winnings from pull tabs to the club. We thank him for the generous donation. Jon has also put in a pull tab machine. Again, we appreciate all the efforts from our local businesses.
- We have also purchased 4 orange sweatshirts to be raffled off at local businesses during hunting season.
- Marv had information on our winter ride. We will go to Shell Lake on Jan. 22nd. A sheet with info. was handed out
New Business
- A discussion was held about the Wascott Area Children’s Christmas Party. Marv made a motion to again donate $200.00. Second by Bob H. Motion carried.
- We discussed lettering of new groomer with Wayne. He will use black and will make the word Wascott larger on the top of our name, and add our name to the front and back of the groomer.
- NW Trails report: The issue of dead end trails is still being discussed. Tim has submitted a request to connect our trail to Pogos. Tim will help us fill out the forms to the state. There have been concerns at the state level with how they are being filled out. We will get a check for winter grooming in November, paid for work done already.
- Tourism poker Run will be Jan. 28, 29, & 30.
- We discussed Christmas wreaths. We will again purchase four wreaths and add two new items to be sent to new land owners by Marshal Road.
- The work day was cancelled and will now be on Nov. 13th. We will meet at the building at 10:00.
- The next meeting will be Dec. 4th, and we will have a meeting on Jan. 8th. I will make a new schedule.
Charles made a motion to adjourn. Second by Jean B. Meeting was adjourned at 11:00.
Respectfully submitted,
Patricia McDermott
