October 31, 2009 - 4 Seasons Recreational Club Monthly Meeting

Old Business

• Signs for P&R were discussed: Wayne will make 2 signs for “T” that read Recreational Parking with arrows, Chuck and Patti will talk to Mark Schroeder about a sign for the parking area that says “Recreational Parking.” We can add other signs later.



• Donations, grants and ways to raise money for P&R were discussed. We have the winter to check into ideas.



• Elections were held:
  • Nominations for Treasurer: Mary has worked as treasurer for four years and asked if someone else was willing to take over. Charles nominated Debbie Hanson, second by Doris. As Mary resigned, and no new nominations were made, Debbie was elected by unanimous vote.
  • Nominations for Secretary: As no other nominations were made for the office of Secretary, Doris Youngquist was elected by a unanimous vote.
  • President and V. president: Charles suggested that Jon Meteraud continue as President until the elections next fall and Mark Hanson take over as V. President until then. Everyone was in favor of the idea.


• Mark discussed a winter ride to Siren on January 23rd –Saturday –at The Lodge. The cost is $98 for the night and 10 rooms have been set aside. Please tell them you are part of Four Season’s Rec. Club. The number is 1-877-843-5634. Please call by December 23rd or rooms will be given up.



• We will be giving a snowmobile safety class during Christmas vacation.

New Business

• Jon, Mark, Dick and Charles worked with the Public Works Dept. on a Memorandum of Understanding for the property that our building sits on.



• The assessor has notified us of taxes that will be due on the building. Charles will call and meet with him on that and the personal property tax that we will need to pay.



• Motion by Charles, second by Kay to donate $100.00 to the Wascott Area Children’s Christmas Party this year. Motion carried. The wrapping and set up will be on December 19th at 10:00 in the morning. We have lots of wrapping to do.



• Motion by Doug, second by Kay to reimburse Patti $115.00 for a grant writing class she took. The motion was approved. Hopefully this will come in handing when looking for money for the Park and Ride.



• Mary had a sample of winter raffle ticket which was reviewed. She needs to buy new stock and will have them for the next meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:55 on a Charles/ Jon motion.
The next meeting will be December 5th - we have no meeting in November.
