May 17, 2008 - 4 Seasons Recreational Club Monthly Meeting
The secretary’s report was approved on a Mark/Charles motion.
The treasurer’s report was approved on Charles/Doug motion.
Old Business
Discussed the drag for sale at Track Inc. - $66,000.00 for 2003 with replacement tracks (4 for 12,000.00) and $20,000.00 trade-in. A used drag will be 6,000.00 to $10,000.00. We will need about $76,000.00 to replace our old groomer. We will talk more to Track, our major contributors and the bank. Mark made a motion that Charles will pursue these talks, second by Mary. Motion carried. He will bring to the June meeting, but if new figures are under $60,000.00, and he has talked to the bank and our supporters, he should commit.
Requests for additional ATV routes were approved by the Town Board, and people requesting the trails have been billed.
Tim won’t know final numbers on supplemental until Sept/Oct. We still have about $690.00 to spend on ATV
Tickets and posters for Food and Fun are ready to take after the meeting.
Mary Lou still needs help with the 5k run on July 5th.
Planter still needs to be done at the ball park.
We need to start gearing up for plans for an addition to our building. Mark will talk to Northland Buildings for pricing and we can talk to the Town about money for possible bathrooms.
New Business
It was decided to give the $10.00 back to Cranberry Lake Association that they left for using our building. It is free to use by the community.
501 c 3 became a 501 c 4, and we are waiting to hear from the IRS on the new application. If we get it, we can start to think of what we might request on an ECE grant.
Flea market is Saturday. We will start to cook at about 9:00.
Motion by Chuck, second by Mark to pay Mary for tickets, posters and post cards. Motion carried.
Tim reported that all money will be used up this year on different programs. A committee of 2 to 3 people has been formed to work on this at the county level. Cut-a-way Dam will be closed, and trail will be re-routed onto county land.
ATV trails will open before Memorial weekend when all clubs report into mark to tell him.
DNR is testing lightweight utility vehicles on Trail #8 outside Minong. Do we want to ask Lance about doing some testing in our area? The biggest problem is that many trails are not wide enough for them.
Motion was made to adjourn by Charles/Mark. Meeting adjourned at 11:00.
