March 31, 2007 - 4 Seasons Recreational Club Monthly Meeting
14 members present.
The secretary’s report was approved as read on a Willard/Dick motion.
The treasurer’s report was approved as read on a Mick/Jean
motion. WE OWE A BIG THANK YOU TO CHIPMUNK FOR THE GENEROUS DONATION TO OUR
TRAIL MAINTENANCE/EQUIPMENT FUND.
Old Business
-
Dick had talked with a mechanic from Duluth
on repairs and parts for a grader, parts are
available and was to receive a kit for taking oil samples, which Chuck
said would be a good idea to have checked.
-
Tim made a motion to reimburse for the gas that was used to go to Ladysmith or
wherever one was located. Approved on a Kay/Mick motion.
-
We received a thank you form the Jim Hanson family.
-
Tim made a motion to withdraw the offer to buy chairs for the Town Hall,
carried by Mark/Mick.
New Business
-
Road clean up is scheduled for April 28 after the meeting.
-
There will only be one meat raffle in April, being held on April 21st.
-
Tim motioned the issue of insurance through AWSC. If you have received any
information on this he said to ignore it, as all it would do is have reps
calling you. AWSC is looking for feedback on going through Tourism instead
of the DNR for trail funding. Also AWSC is looking at the cost of
insurance through other agents then Schwartz and Shea.
The Legislature is also trying to keep the 55 PMH alive and have licenses
for dirt bikes and side-by-side ATV’s.
-
Dick asked if dirt bikes are allowed on our trails. The response is that at
this time they are.
-
ALL TRAILS ARE CLOSED EXCEPT RAILROAD GRADES.
-
Bayfield County is having trouble with
trails on Railroad grades and has a lawsuit going. Tim suggested the club
give them support by sending a check for $500.00 to their Trails Legal
Fund, as we may have the same trouble with the Wild Rivers Trail. It is
rumored that it will be going back to the railroad if the new commuter
trains are put in.
-
The Town Board is getting ready to ask for grant money so come to the April
meeting with ideas on things that you would like to see done. The parking
lot at the ballpark is scheduled to be black topped this summer.
-
ATV maps were discussed, Val has a rough
draft, the only thing to add is the trail to
Pogo’s.
Motion to adjourn by Mary, second by Mick. Meeting adjourned at 10:35.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Hughes
