Old Business
- We did a couple groomings since last meeting. Trails are closed March 27th at midnight. Work on groomer can wait until the grader has been gone over.
- No meat raffle on the first Sat. of April, but Mick and Tim will work on April 16th.
- Tour of Businesses card will go out in early April.
- The web site is up to date and looking good. We should put the Tour on it.
- We discussed non-profit status again, and decided it wasn’t worth it for our club to apply at this point.
- Are we going to do an ATV class this spring? Mick Walker from the Swords Club gave his name to contact in the spring for help to do this. I will call him and try to set something up. We will also need Lance Burns to help.
- Dick checked into having our own fuel depot. It is costly and not something we want to explore any more at this time.
- Tim said there is no video for an ATV class, only for snowmobile classes.
- Reminder letters were sent to members about dues. 22 were sent and 13 came back with membership dues.
New Business
- Tim explained supplemental grooming. It is an average for the county. We should get some back.
- The DNR will hold a meeting on April 11 to discuss four day deer hunting season from Dec 8-11. The trails cannot be open at that time.
- AWSC is looking at being self-insured or getting another company.
- There were 34 snowmobile deaths this year.
- Two-tiered registration was discussed. $24.00 is the average club membership in the state. Money for passes could be used to buy land for more trails.
- May 14th there is a steak feed at Soft Pines for anyone who worked on the trails. Let Tim know if you plan to go. This is sponsored by Upper Lakes Food.
- ATV trail passes are needed to ride on funded trails. Some on the Swords run had problems.
- Our Douglas County Rec. Officer, Steve Olson, has been doing a good job and has not been unreasonable in contacts with riders.
- The NW Trails Assoc meeting will be April 4th at Soft Pines.
- Road Clean up for Hwy 53 will be after our April 30th meeting.
- One sweatshirt left from raffles was sold for $25.00
- Two Club rides were planned: June 25th and July 16th.
Charles made a motion to adjourn. Second by Tim. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 11:08.
Respectfully submitted,
Patricia McDermott
