March 21, 2015 - 4 Seasons Recreational Club Monthly Meeting
Secretary’s Report was approved as read on a Jon/Jean motion.
Treasurer’s Report was approved as read on a Willard/Bill motion. Jean renewed our raffle
license for meat raffles. She reviewed past years and reported that over the last few years, our
annual income from meat raffles has steadily increased.
Trails are closed. Jon purchased and hung a new gate. The damaged gate will be repaired
and used elsewhere along the trail. A Willard/Dick motion passed to reimburse Jon the cost of the new gate.
We need to order new ATV signs, do some work on the trails and install signs. Jon suggested we
divide the trail into sections and people can work on them as they are available to do so. This needs
to be done in the next 4-6 weeks so trails are ready when they reopen in May. We also need to put up
a snow fence along Marshall Road route to keep riders on the trail.
The trail reroute has been delayed as Haawkinsons have been working out of state. They will be returning
soon and will work on the new trail as soon as they are available to do so.
Chuck doesn’t think it’s economical for the club to purchase a lawn mower at this time as we can
hire someone to do the work for less. He did suggest we pursue the possibility of purchasing a drag
for the ATV trails. Jon said he will ask Lullich to bring one of the new ATV drags to demo. Jon also
said they received a bid of $1200 for parts to repair our Sno Boss drag.
We still have funds available for winter trails. Jon suggested we get another load of gravel and have
it dumped near the Chipmunk to prevent washout along the trail. A Jon/Jack motion passed to purchase gravel.
Business Appreciation is scheduled for April 11. A Doris/Dick motion passed to award a $50 gift certificate
from WTDA to the winner of the poker run that day.
Doris had a draft of the raffle tickets and door prize tickets that will be ordered.
Open House is tentatively scheduled for 6/27. We need ideas for prizes, activities, etc so posters
can be ordered after the next meeting.
Meat Raffle volunteers: 4/4 Boop 4/18 Youngquist
The Town of Wascott annual town meeting is 4/18. Our president will need to make a
presentation on behalf of the club explaining our activities for the past year and
plans for next year.
There are some places in Spooner that have sheds for sale. We need to have prices available
at the next meeting so we can make a decision to purchase a new shed and have it installed this
spring. Jon will get prices for the lime and fertilizer we will need to apply to the ball park.
Meeting adjourned at 10:50 on a Dick/Jack motion.
