March 23, 2013 - 4 Seasons Recreational Club Monthly Meeting
Secretary's report was amended to reflect that a hat was also donated to Cozy Corner Booya.
Minutes were approved on a Chuck/Bob motion.
Treasurer's report was approved as read on a Jon/Debbie motion.
Pogo's request to open the ATV road route has been received, however Douglas County is considering
opening all county roads to ATVs. The road will need to be properly signed as an ATV route to be legal.
We are waiting for approval from the county to sign the road.
Jon reported that the trails are in good condition. We will need to level the north end of trail 3 this spring.
Swords run was a success. There were approximately 180 participants.
The Youth Turkey Hunt is March 28-30. They will be using the club building, so there will be a clean up day
on Wednesday to get the building ready. The club will be supplying pizzas and pop on Friday, and members have
volunteered to make cookies and bars.
The county is logging near the south end of Trail 3 across from the View Point. They will be
using the trail to remove the timber, but the contractor will restore the trail when the work
has been completed.
We are considering adding hydraulics to the back of the tractor to improve maneuverability.
Mark will be visiting with Lulich Implement to get prices.
Winter raffle ticket sales were down. Mark suggested suspending the winter raffle temporarily
and doing only the summer raffle until conditions improve and/or the need arises. Summer raffle
tickets will be printed and available for distribution at the next meeting. Chuck suggested
increasing the grand prize. A Debbie/Marv motion passed, with one opposing vote, to increase
the first place prize for the summer raffle to $750. All other prize amounts will remain the
same at 2nd $300, 3rd $200, and twenty $25 winners.
Business Appreciation has been scheduled for April 27. Jack has planned the tour and Doris will
print the postcard to mail. All members are invited and friends and guests are welcome. It was
agreed that the club will not provide food, however everyone is welcome to purchase food at the
various stops. There will be a poker run during Business Appreciation. Everyone will receive a
card/spin at each stop. A Chuck/Jon motion passed for the club to purchase a $50 gift certificate
from WTDA for the winner of the poker run.
Debbie has indicated we need to order more clothing and include a wider variety of styles and colors
that would appeal to our female members and supporters. A Jon/Jean motion passed to purchase club
clothing to be available for sale or gift.
Bill expressed an interest in learning to groom as he will be available next fall. Mark will
plan a summer training session for anyone that would like to learn to operate the tractor. Anyone
operating the tractor must be a club member.
Jon announced that the Crystal Lake Bar and Campground Easter Egg Hunt is March 30. A Debbie/Colleen
motion passed, with one opposing vote, to donate 2 baskets valued at $15.00 each.
