June 27, 2009 - 4 Seasons Recreational Club Monthly Meeting

Old Business

• We purchased a drag for $1800.00; it needs some work. It is a 10 year old Snow Boss.



• Grader tires have been replaced and oils changed and the machine was greased.



• Brush at the Park and Ride will be burned this winter. We discussed signage, but will wait until it is usable. A grant from ECE would be possible next year. Signs could be purchased through snowmobile funds.



• The Wascott Recreation and Conservation Committee approved $500.00 to gravel the driveway at Park and Ride, but then it was turned down at a “work session” – the town chairperson says it is illegal to spend money on property that does not belong to the town and would be a “special interest” group. Doug will get a copy of this opinion in writing from a Town’s Associations attorney.



• ATV class went well – 22 passed the class. Thanks for the donations of treats for the class.



• Discussed the ATV road route ordinance and liability issues. Tim has copy of a letter regarding that which he will give to us. We do not want to lose our road route after 9 years. D.C. opened 13 sections of county roads – will be legal when signed this fall. Doug is surveying businesses to get an idea of how much of business depends on recreational traffic.



• We have a draft from the town chairperson for a lease agreement with our club regarding the club building. The town is claiming ownership of the building, and we own the contents. The club will have a committee of Dick, Mark, Charles, Marv and Tim to discuss this lease with the representatives of the C and R Committee. We have purchased insurance for the building - $239.00, so that it is no longer an issue with the town. We don’t feel that the town should own our building.

New Business

• We discussed can coolers. Motion by Chuck Y./Jean B. to purchase both kinds for a total of $360.00. We will sell for 2 tickets each.



• Mark will work with Coons Electric to discuss upgrade of PA system. Motion by Charles, second by Doug.



• The final paperwork, pictures and newspaper article were sent in to ECE for the ball park project.



• We have received paperwork for personal property tax. Charles will contact the assessor and meet with him.



• We have applied for permits for the F&F.



• Club members will get pop again this year – 6 cases each of 4 kinds of pop.



• We have a bill for domain site - $9.99. Motion by Tim, second by Charles to pay.



• Jon will order porta potties and a dumpster and the same amount of meat.



• We will ask Kohel and Wild Rivers if they are interested in displaying machines at F&F.



• Tim needs copy of invoice and cancelled check from Balscik for work done. I will get that to him.



• Charles and I will call Doucette and NW Beverage about games and beer.



• There is a new grader rate, but groomer won’t change.



• County has approved new county road routes at a cost of $125.00 per sign to put up. It may not get done until fall. Then they will be legal.
