The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read on a motion by Charles and a second by Mark.
The treasurer’s report was approved as read on a motion by Charles and second by Debbie. Thank you to Chipmunk
for the donation of the meat raffle money and View Point for the pull tab sales..
Old Business
-
Mark reported that the snowmobile class is now on-line for a cost of $10.00.
-
Trails are open with some new signs and landowner by Marshal’s has no problems with ATVs in the winter. We have changed insurance policy to a million dollar liability and added the grader and Chuck Mc D’s tractor to the policy. If anyone uses a tractor on the trail, we can add that.
-
The maps are out.
-
Trail report to Mark Schroeder on Tuesdays: no change.
-
Everyone has gotten a card about winter trip planned by Don Toon – Feb. 17 to 20 at Lakewoods Resort in Cable.
-
No action has been taken on purchase of chairs for the Town Hall yet.
-
Charles was out on Trail #3 to limb and replace signs etc.
New Business
-
Mary has new membership cards to put in the businesses. AWSC is trying to correct some problems with recording memberships.
-
Tim:
- International Snowmobile Congress – There are different speed limits in different states.
- Plum Creek – largest land owner will talk only to counties for sales, not clubs. AWSC wants easements on land where there are trails.
- The insurance committee will have a report at the March meeting.
- Non-resident trail passes were voted on and will go to $35.00, but not a law yet.
- The trails committee reported that bridge weights will go up to 18,000 pounds to support newer equipment. There are liability issues on lake trails.
- We have the packet for the March convention and need to send in the Voter Delegate form for Tim.
- Tim has sent in grooming papers from last summer and money will be available for summer ATV.
- Swords Run is same day as our Winter Raffle Drawing. We decided to change time of meeting to 6:00 P.M. so we would have a chance to sell more tickets during the day. Motion by Mick and second by Mark. This will be on the web site and we can change poster information. Also, last year, we decided to help our area businesses by stamping cards for them that day: Chuck and Patti will be at View Point and will sell extra tickets (Other than the tickets that the businesses have to sell), Wayne and Mary will help at the Chipmunk, Dick and Chuck S. will stamp at Pogo’s, and Mick will help at Crystal Lake Bar. We could still use a helper at Circle Pines if they want one.
- We received a thank you from the Children’s Christmas Party donation..
- A decision was made to send a plant to the family when there is a death of a member. We recently lost two members: James Forbes and Charlie Olson. Charles made a motion to pay for those two plants and in the future allow the secretary or treasurer to go ahead and purchase plants when they became aware of a death of a member. Second by Debbie (?). Motion carried.
- Motion by Mark, second by Mick to pay for half the cost of a new ink cartridge (WTDA paid the other half) and post cards and raffle tickets for the meat raffles. Motion carried.
- Marv began a discussion about building a permanent structure in the future for the ball park. It could be used by the club and also baseball teams in the summer. It could be used to sell tickets and give away door prizes for our Food and Fun. There could be grant money available. Also, the bleachers need work. We can approach the town about doing this together. Tim added that it may be a good idea to add another building for meetings if it necessary to use this one to store a grader or other equipment. Marv suggested that it may be possible to add on to one side of the building. We will discuss further in the spring.
A motion to adjourn was made by Mick and second by Dick. Meeting adjourned at 10:55..
Respectfully submitted,
Patricia McDermott
