December 3, 2011 - 4 Seasons Recreational Club Monthly Meeting
Secretary’s Report was approved as read on a Mark/Debbie motion.
Treasurer’s Report was approved as read on a Mark/Chuck motion.
We had 69 certificates returned for the Ski Doo Million Dollar Club support program.
Mark took them to the dealer, however Ski Doo changed their rules this year and required
everyone to complete the certificate on line. It is uncertain if the certificates that we
turned in will be accepted, but appreciate the members that took the time to complete and return them.
Posters for the winter raffle will be here next week. Tickets have been printed and
distributed to local businesses, however they still need to be distributed to individual
members to sell. Everyone’s help to get the tickets out and sold is appreciated.
Mark reported that trails are in good condition.
Drag repair is complete and will be painted within the next couple of weeks.
Minute To Win It contest attracted 5 teams all representing the 4 Seasons Rec club.
The club earned $55 from the event and will plan another event in the spring.
Don Toon proposed the winter ride be held on February 13-14 to Lakewoods Resort in Cable, WI.
The ride will depart from Wascott at 10am on Monday, February 13. Members and non-members are
welcome and encouraged to attend. Rooms start at $99 per night.
Christmas wreaths have been ordered and sent to the 6 landowners that allow our trail to cross their land.
WDTA Poker Run is December 12-February 7. The drawing will be held at the Lookout.
We received a letter from the Town of Wascott requesting a donation to allow them to
purchase new chairs for the town hall. The cost of 100 chairs is approximately $25 each
for a total of $2500. Charles explained that when the club started 20 years ago, the
town allowed the club to construct the building at the ball park in return for the club
doing maintenance at the park. The club has not had to pay taxes or insurance for the
location. He also pointed out that the town donates $1000 to Food and Fun each year,
and the town has earmarked $5000 for ball park improvements next year. After discussion,
it was agreed that it is important for us to maintain a good working relationship with the
town. A Jean Breitung/Mark motion was passed to donated $500 to purchase the chairs.
Motion was passed with one opposed.
Christmas gift wrapping for the Children’s Christmas Part is December 17.
Meat Raffle volunteers are Hanson for 12/3 and Youngquist for 12/17.
Meeting schedule was emailed with meeting minutes last month and will be sent again this month.
The schedule has also been posted on the website.
Mark is tentatively planning a snowmobile safety class for the week after New Year’s,
since Christmas and New Years fall on the weekend.
There was discussion last summer about having a membership drive/open house with a picnic
and ATV ride. Mark suggested that we start thinking about what we want to do and planning the
event. Jon suggested also having a meat raffle. Tentative date was set for June 30 since it
is the 5th Saturday of the month and shouldn’t conflict with any regular scheduled events, but
will check others to avoid any conflicts. We will discuss details at our January meeting so
we can start advertising by March.
Jean had a copy of the Washburn County trail map and explained that Michele from the Chipmunk
advertised on the map and was able to get the map modified to extend farther north into Douglas
County to include Trail 3. This should help bring more riders to the area. Thanks to Michele
for increasing exposure.
Jean asked if the ATV trail could extend to Seamen’s Resort. Mark will talk to the County
about extending the trail.
Mark will be ordering additional trail signs. Jon has a few trail requests to present to the Town
in the spring.
Meeting adjourned on a Mark/Dick motion.
