August 24, 2013 - 4 Seasons Recreational Club Monthly Meeting
Secretary's Report was approved as read on a Dennis/Mike motion.
Treasurer's Report was approved as read on a Dennis/Mike motion.
Trails were graded this week but we need rain.
Mark got the new thank you signs for Food and Fun.
Jon got gas prebuy for $1.29 from Como. Dick will order 500 gallons.
Jon attended NW Trails meeting. Triail 41 to Forest Road is the county's responsibility to groom.
There is a state UTV fund in addition to the ATV fund so we will be getting more trail funding
from the state. Trails need some brushing and updated signage.
Meat raffle volunteers 9/7 Hansons and 9/21 Boops Mark asked that members think about new
projects for the club and bring them to the next meeting. Some suggestions were to update/repair
the playground equipment and purchasing gravel to add to the corners of the trails.
Dick spoke with Dan Carlson from the Minong club about updating the large sign on the south end of
trail 3 & 41. Since they own the sign they are willing to do the work, but need our input as to the
information that needs to be included. Dick will work with them to get this done. Chuck has volunteered
to survey the current signs to determine what updates are needed as well as additional informational
signs. A Debbie/Jean motion passed to order signs so we have an inventory available.
Bob talked with the town supervisor and suggested they extend the blacktop at the corner of Cranberry
Lake Road and Crystal Lake Road to prevent washout at the corner. They agreed it would be helpful and
will be including for the next road maintenance.
Nominations were opened for Secretary and Treasurer. Debbie nominated Doris for Secretary and Jean Breitung
for Treasurer. No other nominations. Nominations will be open again in September.
Food and Fun
Chuck suggested a new paddle wheel game in which we would make a second set of paddles that
are a different color that would sell for 5 tickets. We would have one round per hour for
a chance to win a $75 WTDA gift certificate. A Debbie/Dennis motion passed to purchase the
We currently have items for 19 boards.
Jon couldn't reach Badger so Mr Biffy will be supplying the satellites this year. The biffies
as well as the dumpster will be delivered Thursday. Brian Zimmerman has generously donated the dumpster.
Chuck invited Wild River Sports to display their rec vehicles but has not received a response.
Jon also spoke to him and thought he was interested in attending. Jon will follow up with him on Monday.
Volunteers are needed for set up and to work. Several jobs are available. Anyone interest
in helping can show up on Saturday and talk to anyone in a red shirt for direction.
Event times - Thursday 2:00 to prepare beef, onions and cakes. Friday 3:00 to slice beef and husk corn. Saturday 10:00 a.m. Setup, 12:00 p.m. Car show opens, and 1:00 p.m. Gates open for Food and Fun.
